She is very beautiful and I am sure she deserved to win. However, with every organisation under the sun trying to be more diverse and perhaps looking to get ethnic minorities to the front of the queue, there will always, because of these policies, be the suspicion she won because she was black and it was somehow their turn to win. I am not saying that was the case but it's what some may think. Just saying.

Congratulations Dee-Ann.
Always a good idea to get your suspicions in first, I find....
//be the suspicion she won because she was black and it was somehow their turn to win/
Is that like the suspcion that white women win because they are white?
She's the best looking.
There's still a Miss Universe competition?
Yeah, some would say it's exploitation and degeneration of women, irrespective of colour. Just saying.
To say that she was first in their 66 year history because she is black is surely farcical.
She's very attractive, but if you want a black athlete as a beauty queen - why not put Denise Lewis in - I think she's far more attractive!
Do people get 'put in' or do they enter?
I don't think it is an invitation event.
"Just saying" dave50? Why don't you just come out and say what you really think.
Mind you, my Mum put my Dad in the Knobbly Knees contest at Prestatyn in 1967 and he came second.
Denise is very beautiful but at 45 is too old (upper limit is 27) and she is also excluding from entering because she is married and has children.

So you’re saying if the final contestants were 4 ugly black girls and Carmen Electra that Carmen wouldn’t get a look in?
You had better familiarise yourself with the Site Rules, minky.
Times change and it's a perfectly reasonable suspicion given the discrimination in favour of other groups who claim discrimination against their grouping in past generations. But it's not obvious that it's the case here. So best leave any suspicions to oneself.

And, of course, there's now't wrong in contests to be awarded the most attractive accolade. Some just like to claim offence on behalf of others.
I think she's drop dead gorgeous.

But picking up on ZM's point, if we're going to go the way of the Americans, how long will it be before the sisterhood of wimmin (you know the type - the Millie Tant out of Viz types) decide these good looking slim women are 'body shaming' those who aren't good looking and slim?

Personally I think her winning has got nothing to do with her colour and everything to do with the undeniable fact that she is stunning.
I'm just not seeing it but then again that doesn't matter.
how many judges, male or female, has she been out with or is contracted to go out with?
Beautiful and educated, great. Just saying .
