I feel that Blair may have been bought..well, so have been told though never accuse (summat like) that but whether he will be brought to justice...too late in the day isn't it?
Sqad. No he didn't. He told Bush a year previously that he would be with him, period. Then there was invented 'intelligence' (uranium in Niger?), twisted intelligence (45 minutes?), exaggerated intel and dodgy dossiers (including plagiarised student essays). The facts, such as they were, were used to back the cause for war and not to decide whether war was desirable.
Maybe not to The Hague but certainly to us in the uk after he brought terror to our doorstep whilst he remains safe whilst he reaps gigantic financial rewards.
I still pray for the day when/if he’s bought to justice.
Saddam had used chemical and biological warfare against Iran and the Kurds in the north of Iraq, he hindered the UN observers in opening to his borders in establish the absence or not of biological weapons and his obstruction could clearly be interpreted as guilt.
He had already invaded Kuwait.
A decision to overthrow Hussein by force had to be made and this was backed by Parliament.
What else do you want?
Minkyme......it was the "hand of God" that directed you to give me Best Answer.
You can easily remove it or give it to someone else...I won't be offended.

Erm, maybe for my country to not be pulled into an illegal and immoral war for one, anyway,Bush was going to do this anyway so why was Blair so stupid as to get us dragged into this?
The chilcot report concluded that military intervention wasn’t the only course of action when it was decided to ‘go in’. It also undermined the authority of the United Nations Security Council.
It wasn’t until 13 March did that Lord Goldsmith advise there was, on balance, a secure legal basis for military action but no formal record was made of the decision.
Minky...yes of course Parliament could have voted against going to war with Iraq, but i cannot say what the outcome would have been if it had been the wrong decision.
Making decisions is an important aspect of life, at wherever level and the best that yu can do is to asses the pros, cons and evidence and then, by any method , make a decision.
It may be good, bad, right or wrong but decisions have to be made.
Jackdaw33 is correct,
Blair sought parliament's approval to go to war with Iraq. He got that approval. No case to answer.
Though I loathe Blair, he didn’t take us to war, Parluament did - on a vote. If you want to call Blair to book, you have to hang all the Tories who voted with him.
Jackdaw, he not only got Parliament's approval, he stood again at the next general election and won. You can't get much more democratic legitimacy than that.
He clearly got the war wrong, but anyone trying to prove he knew it was wrong from the start hasn't got a hope.
