Yesterday I posted a thread reporting that Home Secretary Sajid Javid has ordered research into the ethnic origin of sexual grooming gangs.

Due to the increase in knife and gun crime in London and the car shoot out that took place last night in the Forest Gate area, perhaps Sajid Javid or even Sadiq Khan should now carry out a similar research into the ethnic origin of these gangs?

There are dodgy places in Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow where the stabbings and shootings are high but it does not get the media coverage because they are not the Nations capital - its not right and its not clever but it is how it is.
Also most of those crimes are carried out by white youth - which is another reason it does not get reported on so much.

You didn't, it is a well used term to answer someone who tries to make excuses, so as the divert from the problem in hand.

It really wouldn't hurt to carry out official research into ethnic origin of the gangs. Remember this is not skin colour but the background they are from. Without doubt there are Eastern European gangs, they will be pretty much white given how racist that part of the World tends to be.

The research could then give us some methods of tackling it particularly with regard to stop and search - which needs reinstating.

Nothing will be done while there are those that refuse to grab the problem by the horns and address what they find.

Most of the answers on here are proof of that with their excuses and diversions to other areas. It is a wonder that the race/xenophobic card hasn't been played yet.

Not quite the way I saw it from some of the replies.

However, I really would welcome full research into the latest crime wave. All we have are guesses, various different angles from the press depending on the agenda they want to press and people with axes to grind.

Full research should put to bed any myths and enable debate and resolution with facts.

We may well be surprised at the outcome, who really knows?

An area in which I once lived contained very large Victorian and Edwardian house occupied by affluent professionals.

These have now been taken over by Asians and Eastern Europeans and is now a crime ridden ghetto.
