His actions do seem to be over the top although if he thought he was in danger perhaps not.

Hindsight of course has shown he had the wrong man

Having been cleared by his jury he walked from court without a blemish on his character. Why call him a savage?
I agree....the word "savage" is used on here far too often.
"Met Police officer Joshua Savage..."
In the circumstances this police officer is not to blame.

Why do some complain when action is taken, when they refuse to obey the instructions of a police officer?
Just so they can post it on u tube.
Constable Savage..
" Why call him a savage? " - reel em in YMB!
Doh. :-((

I'm totally on the officer's side. I watch some of the police programmes on TV and they are abused, spat at and assaulted on a daily basis while doing their jobs and that's all this man was doing, his job. He made a mistake, big deal !
Found not guilty of destroying property assault possesion of a blade

So who destroyed the property and was in possesion of a blade ,then ?
Ludwig - You beat me to it!!

That's exactly what i thought of as soon as I read the officer's name!
The incident happened on 16.9.16, the PC has been on restrcted duties since then and only now is the Met Police considering disciplinary measures.

Why on earth did they not carry out a disciplinary investigation months ago?
