But they should, as we all should, comply with a dress code that has rational genuine reasons behind it, such as not hiding your identity by hiding your facial features in public. Plus, having been brainwashed as kids to hide away they may need help to break that dependence on hiding and feeling a need to do it.
I think i agree with OG. If it were banned by the state I can see why you'd feel that was a restriction on the women's freedom Rockrose, but it could help reduce the number of cases where men are forcing women to wear it. I wonder, though, what happens in countries that ban it if the woman's defence is that her husband co-erced her into wearing it against the law.
I don't think disapproving of the state telling people what and what not to wear implies supporting "Islam and all its foibles".
