Witch Hunt - Hypocrisy
After his persistent and relentless attack on Obama's birth place validity, surely it is the height of hypocrisy for Trump to complain about an anti-POTUS witch hunt.

Don't make me read through all that. I'm too tired. I got as far as //In recent months, [advisers] say, Mr. Trump has used closed-door conversations to question the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate//, and some rambling on wiki - no mention of Trump gossiping as far as I can tell - but who are 'advisers' in the other link - and if the conversations were 'closed door', who spilled the beans? Snopes, as far as my tired eyes will allow me to examine, doesn't mention Trump. Is Canary absolutely sure we should be talking about Trump here?
// What did he say about Obama's birth place validity?//
that the birth certificate that showed that Obama was born in Amerikee was a forgery or his brother's
that therefore he was not a US ciizen
and had no right to stand for election as Pres
I dont think he has recanted - I think he just goes on stating it ...
How can one tell if the president is telling the truth?
he says the opposite the day after

It's long & complicated. Looks like the Clinton bunch might have started the rumor.
The following lead to short bits.

Here's a paragraph about Trump, late in the game:

Thanks, Douglas. I learned a new word, birtherism.
The big shovel is barely enough these days. Need one of these:

The Birther conspiracy was Trump's favourite topic for years. Hard to miss it.

All from 2012, but it was only in his 2016 campaign that he finally disassociated himself from the conspiracy.
As to the rumours that Hillary Clinton started it -- totally false.

In fact, as the wiki article makes clear, the rumours had circulated (most likely due to early internet trolling) as early as 2004, long before Clinton could have had anything to do with it. Implicating her personally, or any of her aides, in the lies about Obama's birthplace is completely erroneous.
