I saw that....it's ghastly! And if picture three is anything to go by they aren't working...... horrid....x
This looks like some April 1st spoof. Does the first one discharge straight into the Seine? And the second one seems to be leaking onto the pavement. Incroyable.
Use them often do you naomi?
They look disgusting. It seems like an idiotic solution to an invented problem. Is there really a major problem of men peeing all over the streets in Paris? I doubt it.
Fifty years ago the 'ciroirs' were everywhere in Paris, now there are none. These are not needed; all one has to do is dart into the nearest café.

aog, I don't use them at all.

Krom, //Is there really a major problem of men peeing all over the streets in Paris? //

Now there are so many living on the streets, I think there could be.
If I am caught short when out and about I just head for the nearest pub or department store.
I'd have a wee problem if they were the only option. I'd be too inhibited to use them.
Thing is, the French have got form when it comes to controversial "peesoirs":

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clochemerle
as Del boy would say: "Cru de tet sur la plat"!
We have our own form when it comes to *** collectors and 'not having a pot to *** in' was about as skint as you could be.
Let's wait and see, it's a fluid situation.

That looks disgusting. I'd be very uncomfortable walking past men peeing in them.
Agree, rocky, I'd be very unsettled to be close to one of these and they are far more discreet than the ones in Paris. Having said that, we do call urinating in the open 'being French', after all our years there so I'm a bit surprised that Parisians are so upset. I think the French version is dreadful - bring back the pissoirs! (Someone has already referred to Clochemerle.)
Those ones in London aren't as unsightly or poorly-positioned but they do stink and often have 'puddles' around them because drunk people miss. I'm not sure they are an example to follow.
