Do you mean the Notting Hill Carnival or the female orgasm?
No to both.
One stabbing is one too many but might almost be regarded as a triumph given recent events.
No.Only one stabbing amongst many thousands of spectators,
No,but stop and search must be increased with punishments so harsh you dare not carry any sort of weapon.
(At the risk of provoking Douglas' ire.....)
Every year you ask the same questions about NHC, why?

Considering about 1,000,000 people attended, the figures for crimes committed are considerably lower than could have been expected given the 'lawlessness' in London so far this year.
it's da cultcha innit!
Excellent event 're crime/ arrests, well done the many many many people who enjoyed the world famous carnival .
No
Did you mean irie, Jack? ;-)
"One man is stabbed, 49 knives are seized and 385 people are held "

Not exactly a peaceful and desirable state of affairs in a small part of London, but hey! a small price to pay for our multicultural society.

I wonder why so many of you are prepared to see the violence in London increase, the injuries to the police, the cost of police presence and the cost of the clean-up after this event?

Notice this year that there wasn't any silly photos showing the police and these revellers togetherness.
Sqad, that is not a lot among 1000.000 people attending.
danny....oh! right.
AOG - Every year the Daily Mail gets its pants in a robble about the Carnival, because its readers don't approve of 'that sort of thing', and every year you post the link with some criticism of the event.

No it's not time to put an end to it, any more than we should put an end to festivals, horse race meetings, football matches, concerts, or indeed anywhere where large numbers gather because there will be a small amount of trouble, because people are not perfect.

Still, all over for another year.

/// Excellent event 're crime/ arrests, well done the many many many people who enjoyed the world famous carnival . ///

At the expense of the person who was stabbed and all those police who were injured.
Not the world famous carnival, but the world infamous carnage.
Hardly carnage!
I don't see you getting your knickers in a twist about the 12 of July or the St Paddy days events or the horse racing meets etc.
Only this and Gay Pride - I wonder why that is?
Public festivals are an important part of urban life and have been since the first cities existed. I don't know why there is so much hostility to the basic fact of large-scale public events existing (and no, 'it's annoying' or 'it's inconvenient' doesn't count).

As others have said, the crime figures for this year don't really add up to the view of NHC as some kind of carnival of violence and bloodshed. There must be some other thing about it which upsets AOG.
AOG // and all those police who were injured. //
Whilst ideally no policeman should be injured, 30 out of 7.000 on duty is not disproportionate.

There are no other festivals, horse race meetings, football matches, or concerts, that have the violent, disruptive and criminal record that this carnival has.

May be acceptable for some cultures but not ours.
