Maybe you should look at your diet? skin condition depends on our insides, and therefore we need to alter what we put into our bodies to get the reflection in our skin.
E45 cream is cheap and good. I use it all the time.

I too have very dry skin. I try to exfoliate regularly (with a gentle exfoliator) to get rid of any dead skin cells then use aqueous (sp!?) cream.

I apply a good amount as a night cream then use it more sparingly during the day.

It is not a miracle cure but it is cheap and does as good a job as some expensive moisturisers.

The one thing I would say is to check you are not allergic to any make up products etc that you may be using. This can cause dermatitis - I try to use unperfumed and uncoloured (such as Simple) to avoid this.

I have very dry skin too... E-45 does nothing for me sadly but I use micro-dermabrasion by L'oreal twice per week (costs around 15) and the sanctuary face cream (costs around 9)- you can buy both at Boots and they both last for ages!! that face cream is ideal to use under foundation too.
i have really dry ski and ive tried everything going, but the best thing i found which works for me is baby lotion just tryit for a few days and see, ifits good for babies its good for us too
Bio Oil which you can buy in chemist shops eg boots is excellent

try Smith's Rosebud salve. You can get it in selfridges, or a good chemist. it's a salve with natural rose oil in it. costs about 7 but lasts for years. and it smells like Turkish delight which is a massive bonus.

Yep its a big problem and seems to get worse with age. I never use soap and water that seems to make it worse, and Nivea is quite good. Also I think it gets worse if you have too much alcohol !
• Petroleum jelly is one of the best remedies for dry lips, hands, and feet.
• Glycerin oil is also a good remedy for dry skin.
• Conditioned air is dry and really affects your skin. If you can't avoid sitting in an air conditioned room all day, at least get a humidifier, or keep a bucket half filled with water next to you to humidify the air.
