Palestinian Flag Waving

It's OK to wave (freely handed out) Palestinian flags, but not the flag of the EU. How weird is that?

Very odd. In fact one delegate actually complained.
Like most reasonable people I support the cause of the Palestinians but I found this episode rather sinister. Maybe it was just me.

Very weird. Preston City Council flew the Palestinian Flag over Preston Town Hall which is much weirder (and more sinister too).

This seems to be a new trend, handing out flags. Thousands were handed out freely to people entering the Last Night of the Proms , but in that case they were EU flags!

Also, as usual, the speakers at the Labour Conference are a bit lopsided in their portrayal of historical facts, it wasn't only Palestinians who were dispossessed in the Middle East, large numbers of Jews too, for example, 120,000 Jews were forced to leave Iraq - many of them having held distinguished positions in public life after suffering brutal persecution, including the public hanging of Jews.

Some 80,000 Egyptian Jews had their property confiscated were also forced out of Egypt by its government in 1950.

I am sympathetic to the Palestinians, but if people want to spout history, they should seek the full picture, not just the narrow narrative being now expounded by the left.

Didn't the half of mandate "Palestine" become the Kingdom of Jordan which does have a flag?

St Johnstone and Celtic fell foul of UEFA rules.
The Labour conference has a ‘no flags’ rule anyway.
The proms, as with concerts in any places, encourages flag wavers.

I’m not in favour of banning flag waving by the way, but labour conference had its rule and it was ignored
