Perhaps in Punjabi the need to dump could well be interpreted, in his haste, to the need to jump.

The man '... was persuaded to take a seat for the remainder of the flight...' Well, what happened then? Did the guy want to use the toilet, or didn't he? Was he 'persuaded to take a seat' next to other passengers, or did he take a seat in the toilet? This story could run and run [if you see what I mean].
Very odd story, not sure I believe it.

All they had to do was show him the bog and all would be well. (Except for the next occupant maybe).

And the exit door cant be opened mid flight so it's not really a massive problem.

Why Not?
Because he is an Indian banker forchrissake on an Indian aircraft on a domestic flight. If he cannot read toilets and Emergency Exit in his own Language or English then I despair of his ignorance.I wouldn't want him handling my finance and he is a danger to the public.
My 6yr old Grand daughter can read toilets.
