Joking aside, will anyone on here give serious consideration to lifestyle choices/changes?
At the risk of sounding ‘holier than thou’ I couldn’t really do any more than I do(from someone who gets spoken to for throwing his banana skins/apple cores out of the window into an enclosed area) but am intrigued as to how many will give serious consideration.
Anyone?

Yes this is a serious problem, and the burden for solving it lies disproportionately on highly developed countries because we have such high CO2 emissions and resources consumption per capita.
I'm not optimistic this will happen though. Older voters still tend to swing elections here - and they tend (with some exceptions) to either be climate change skeptics or to just not care. So we'll keep doing what we're doing and suffer a catastrophe in all likelihood.

It's unclear what we are bring asked to do.
Buy less meat, probably already do. Less milk, cheese and butter, honestly I probably don't have enough now for a healthy diet. More locally sourced seasonal food, fine except the places I eat need to make the change. Throw less of it away, very difficult as I sling almost none. Drive electric cars, well the power station still pollutes and the infastructure to generate/distribute isn't there and the car specs are inadequate. Walk, I do. Cycle, get real that clogs up the roads and are death traps, that should be discouraged. Take trains and buses instead of planes, who takes planes internally in the UK; yeah me and my neighbours do it all the time. Use videoconferencing instead of business travel, don't business travel. Use a washing line instead of a tumble dryer, do when it's sunny. Insulate homes, they are. Demand low carbon in every consumer product, stop blaming the consumer.
There needs to be more thought on practical action.

No car, no tumble drier, drastic reduction in meat, butter etc. Wear more clothes rather than use more heating. Swapped all my lightbulbs. Recycle and restrict the plastic I buy. Have planted a few trees and have sponsored the planting of others. Apart from the trees the rest of the changes are more the result of circumstances. Still seems pointless in the great scheme of things
Guess it IS all doom and gloom then!?
For those saying there’s no point in the grand scheme of things I’d counter that it HAS to begin with us. Every contribution matters, no matter how small.
I recycle all food waste, tea bags, egg shells etc, I even collect together the holders from tealight candle holders.
All paper(including till receipts) is recycled and any spare/unused clothing goes in a charity bag.
Not sure why cycling is to be discouraged(it’s the most effective machine in the world)as it’s one of the best ways to lessen impact.
Yes, the Chinese are dreadful but imagine the extra impact if they didn’t have the bicycle?!
Without appearing to ‘be on my soapbox’ I’d encourage everyone to make an effort.
After all, what better legacy can you leave your grandchildren?
We can do our bit and hope that governments and industry do theirs, continued scepticism won’t solve the problem.
