Crack, Dougal.
Are you posting from a phone, sp?
I think there's only 1 L in barrel. Could be wrong.

You’re correct.

ummm - so are you.

Perhaps the response to this story (and the reaction to Jody Whittaker winning the role of Dr Who) suggests that intolerance has become agnostic in 2018?

We hear all the time about Millennials complaining at the drop of a hat, but it would appear that many more people have become addicted to complaining that we first thought?
Sp is referring to the 'comments' section; comments left by the DM readers.

All I can say is, well that's DM comment-leavers for you! :o)
Nice of you to rush to the defence of your soul brother, jack. However, I checked the comments section before replying. Nobody was angry.
Funny that......I could see several.
One or two people were taking the P out of people like you who desperately wanted them to be angry.

Many of the top rated responses seem to have bee Lon written by people who have cheeks which are lot redder than they were when they woke up.

The same gang who hurl themselves at their keyboards at the mere mention of Idris, Elba and Bond.
People like me? I want people to be angry?

What a very strange thing to say....
Spice rack, click on "oldest" or any tab that isn't "newest"

So these sick hate filled Ageists refused to hire someone the correct age? The film should be burned and everyone in on it sued for BILLIONS to create a trust fund to help aging actors to sue other lefty ageist! LmAo stoopid Snowflakes"
"I think it's very clever...but surely a woman playing a part intended for a man is taking a part from a male actor, so therefore in this liberal PC Hollywood of today this is sexism in the work place!!!???"

I want to be the first to be offended."

I don’t think the role was written for an 82 year old man. It was written for Tilda Swinton. She’s well known for being a transformative actress (see ‘The Curious Case Of BenJamin Button’ or ‘Trainwreck’).

People are going to see this movie to see how she can be transformed this time.

And then there’s the ‘others’, looking for something to be offended by?
I have nothing against the actor. She did a good job acting.
It's delicious and would have been even better had it been played out to the conclusion planned.
Brilliant, a fantastic transformation!

It would have been good for it to end in the manner they'd hoped for.
Not sure about this particular link but as to the original question I think it has always gone on, take for instance Mary Whitehouse and the sackloads of letters recieved by Newspapers signed 'disgruntled of Surrey' or similar.

The problem now is that people have a quick easy way of venting their fury. I suspect many post and then wish they hadn't in the cold light of day (these would have been the ones n the past who ripped the letter up or didnt post it). Emails can be the same which is why I have a delay on mine.

You seem very angry towards the Mail.
