A different thread on AB just now asks about "mad states...", there are those who conspicuously posture and definitely do not like the mirror being held up to them.

Assange is a monster fraud. He wasn’t even responsible for obtaining stuff. He just published what was given him by Cheldley Manning. Claiming nonsensically to be the voice of free speech. I’m always suspicious of people who claim that.
I’ve never had any sympathy for cats before :-)
Ecuador fell out with the U.K. over this originally but now they see what they’ve let themselves in for. We should be helping them by declaring we have no interest in detaining him. Unfortunately until the US does the same, which seems unlikely in the current climate, he will continue to be able to play the martyr.
