he should step down from public life, as should anyone who transgresses in similar fashion. Imagine John Bercow lighting up a cannabis cigarette in the HoP he would be sacked on the spot i expect.

Why would Labour want him sacked? The House of Commons shop does a nice line in Whiskey,cigarettes, after dinner mints etc all in green wrapping with H of C gold portcullis embossed thereon. All at less than duty free prices.
The Honourable Labour member Keith Vaz could now purchase his Charlie on the doorstep as it were.
As for House of Commons security. Why should that bother Corbyn and his crowd. They are known for extending hospitality to terrorists visiting the House

It depends what his contract of employment says about criminal convictions. If it says anything, it will probably day that loss of employment is discretionary if no prison time results.
As he is employed by his mother, she is not going to sack him.

Leaving aside the technicalities it can't be good for a sitting MP to have a drug offender employed. I'd have though Agent Cob would be wanting to avoid further embarrassment to labour.

Personally I don’t think MPs should be allowed to employ family. But as I don’t make the rules they obviously are.
