If I'd worked out how I could afford to run a car before I'd bought one I'd still be carless now, 4 decades later. Most jobs I applied for weren't totally clear beforehand either, but confidence in one's abilities is important in order to achieve anything. Sometimes one must strike out for what one wants or needs from life rather than forever stay stagnent, afraid to try anything just in case there are issues to solve on route.
