The Police are guilty of a huge cluster-**** (my asterisks) with the Charlene Downes case. The (allegedly) guilty men have been tried and the trial fell to pieces because of inept (and bordering on Criminal) Police behaviour; evidence is no longer admissible, etc. I have great sympathy with Karen Downes and agree that there does seem to be a...

I think because the McCanns kept it in the media it put more pressure on the police.
When I'm bringing up their professions I mean it in a way that they could afford to put the pressure on. His job meant that Kate could take time out to write books and raise money. Most people don't have that option.

It shouldn't be Charlene or Madeline. Justice should serve them both equally which is why (I think) the police must have some additional evidence or inkling that they can solve this case. I'm sure (and hope) that if additional evidence comes to light in the case of Charlene, the police will act on it and secure a prosecution. It would have been a nice gesture if the gentlemen awarded costs against the police in the Downs case had donated their award (£250,000) to a charity -that's all I have to say about them !!!!!!!!

// The (allegedly) guilty men have been tried// (charlene downes)
well that is an end to it then - double jeopardy and all that
the case can be retried on application to some wig-wearer and the criterion is - - new important evidence.
NOT - we totally screwed up last time - can we have another go please?

// The case of little Ben Needham, age 21 months, who disappeared almost 30 years ago when he was abroad often crops up in the news.//
I thought we knew what happened to little Ben - death bed confession "I ran him over and buried him in a patch" and when they dug there they found blood stained clothing and his fave toy.
Maddie has long since gone and been fed to the fishes
