I think because the McCanns kept it in the media it put more pressure on the police.

When I'm bringing up their professions I mean it in a way that they could afford to put the pressure on. His job meant that Kate could take time out to write books and raise money. Most people don't have that option.

It shouldn't be Charlene or Madeline. Justice should serve them both equally which is why (I think) the police must have some additional evidence or inkling that they can solve this case. I'm sure (and hope) that if additional evidence comes to light in the case of Charlene, the police will act on it and secure a prosecution. It would have been a nice gesture if the gentlemen awarded costs against the police in the Downs case had donated their award (£250,000) to a charity -that's all I have to say about them !!!!!!!!

The Police (on paper) had a good case against the (allegedly) guilty men but handled the evidence so incompetently to render it either a) unusable, or b) inadmissible....ever.

As terrible as it is for any child to go missing, Madeline was only three - a baby. I think that's the difference.

The mother in this case wonders why there's been so little interest from the judiciary and the media regarding the loss of her daughter, I'm pretty sure generalities are not what she would want to hear - especially when they appear to excuse the lack of action in this case..

I thought we knew what happened to little Ben - death bed confession "I ran him over and buried him in a patch" and when they dug there they found blood stained clothing and his fave toy.
