I think we are the ones who have failed regarding evoloution. Do we seem evolved? All of us fighting over land, oil and materials? Or do these people seem evolved, having tools hand made from the stuff they have at hand, being bale to survive without a microwave or an oven for literally as long as the western world has been around?

I think if you want to find out who is more evolved, just try inhabit their island....

AOG - There seems to be an international agreement that these (primitive) Islanders should remain untouched by the worst (and the best) that the more developed (not superior) world has to offer.

They don't need any sort of 'armed' protection as they are manifestly able to protect themselves.
This young religious zealot chose to ignore *all* the laws, rules, regulations, etc. about venturing to this island and has paid a hefty price for it.
He could have been incubating a cold and wiped out the entire population because 'he' felt they needed to hear the word of his God.

I don't rejoice in his death but to try and somehow compare this situation with one of your favourite subjects, i.e. immigration to this country, is particularly crass.

Totally agree JTH. How would they have lived this long if they let every Tom, Dick and Harry onto their island? As you have just said.. from their perspective, he could have wiped out their entire population.

Imagine their perspective.. Some of our tech would be alien to them, and quite scary let alone the clothes we wear and how our mannerisms would differentiate to theirs
