Great in principal but just wait and see the furore and riots should one or two of these ‘ good boys really’ get plastered over the highway. When a scumbag is taken out lawfully with an authorised firearm remember the riots that followed by the grieving brotherhood? :-(

A high risk option. Great until death or injury occurs, then it hits the fan.
We'll see how it goes, I guess.

Hope springs eternal.
It’s up to the criminal as to the depth of risk, totally their choice.
I doubt that the courts will see it that way.
Lawyers will have a field day.
Well, maybe as a society we’ve got to the point where those in power may sway more towards the fact that thieving scum must now be more accountable for their actions and choices.
It is THEIR recklessness that puts themselves in danger.
Don’t want the pain?
Don’t commit the crime.
"doubt that the courts will see it that way.
Lawyers will have a field day."
Perhaps not, the nobs have also been hit inludin Osborne.

When the elite see themselves as targets things change, why else the change of policy. Judges will no longer side with the scum as they are a target too.
good and its about time.
Specially trained officers. Who trained them, Mr Magoo?
The senior police officer on the news last night stated that the cars slowed down at the point of impact so that no serious injury occurred.

What is your problem?
His problem, like many on here, is a lack of logic. To hit a moped at speed must require pretty good eyesight.

I wonder if they’ll start putting stickers on the sides of the cars?
No problem. I watched the video. Unlike the expert, I don't think you need special training to ram into the back of mopeds.
Some good news at last
way to go !
I'm happy with that. No sympathy whatsoever.
Saw that on the news last night. i've got a lot of respect for the police but doing this-well it doesn't sit right with me-not unlesss the suspect has done something seriously wrong.
Robbing people is seriously wrong.
Candy sherbet. Easily avoided by the scooter rider stopping when the police car arrives.
It's not that there's any sympathy for these criminals. I posted earlier that these crashes could lead to life changing injuries.
Is it right to crush a butterfly on a wheel?
Or in these instances, under a wheel.
While the headline in the link claims that this can be done at 'high speed', none of the clips shown appear to be so. Put yourself in the shoes of those police officers who will be called upon to carry out this tactic should any prove fatal. Wouldn't want the death of any thief on my conscience, no matter how much of a 'scumbag' they may be.
