no that was Der Fuhrer's Luftwaffe who did that, likening Mrs T does you no favours, but then i think that you hate most people.
Some very bizarre answer here. I don’t think Theresa May is anything like Thatcher or Heath. She happens to be the farmer in the loft as the Brexit chickens come home to roost.
She’s the one who had to actually go out and do stuff while everyone around her (including me) were calling her everything. I respect that. I don’t respect the wild Brexiteers who seem to think it would be so easy. It always is easier from the touch line.
The EU will do one of two things if this deal is kicked out: they’ll tell us to get knotted it they’ll grant an extension to the deadline to let us sort ourselves out. What they will not do is commit to potentially years more of negotiation. What if there WAS another deal and we rejected that too?
no deal is better than a bad deal, (mantra by Mrs May)
over and over again.
Thatcher was our most evil PM ever.
ichkeria, //She’s the one who had to actually go out and do stuff//

She didn't 'have' to. She's the one who picked up the mantle voluntarily - and she’s the one who went out determined to do what the majority didn’t vote for and didn’t want her to do.
That was always a meaningless statement: any deal she signed was always going to be a good deal in her eyes.
I think it’s as good as it gets. We cannot leave the customs union early because of N Ireland. We cannot negotiate a trade arrangement with the EU until we have left: that would be the case no matter what.
where is NJ when you need him to give his side of the story.
People voted to leave the EU and leave the EU is what we are doing. I notice people have stopped taunting us with “we are leaving so there” - just when it is actually true!
they haven't voted the deal through Parliament yet.
ichkeria, you've been listening to Mrs May. She doesn't understand what leave means either.
She did have to Naomi - (David Davis was supposed to be doing it but proved incompetent and was effectively sidelined before he finally resigned)
In any case SOMEONE had to be PM through all this and it was plain that for all the rumours and threats of plotting against her no one had the guts to actually come forward.
ichkeria, she didn't 'have' to. She wanted it.
15.45 grumpy, the Witch didn't need to Bomb Coventry , as she was the Enemy Within.
Gulliver, you really haven't got the gist of this thread.
I certainly hope we don’t leave: as I’ve said before if even Brexit supporters don’t want to Brexit then what’s the point in remain supporters doing the PM a favour.
The deal as is proves we’d be better off in the EU than out, which was the Remain argument all along. Many Brexiteers don’t actually care about that of course. But the deal does explain how we will leave the EU. If you think it doesn’t then I’d suggest it’s you who does not understand it :-)
Gulliver is the comedy subplot, relieving the main dramatic tension ;-)
no, he is a pain in the arris, who doesn't contribute a lot except to descry Mrs T, the Tories at every level. If he is a Labour man fair enough, but honestly you can't get a lot of sense out of the man.

Absolutely! The deal proves that Mrs May will accept anything at any cost as long as it means that, contrary to the wishes of the electorate, we remain tied to the EU - but you're wrong about Brexiteers. Unlike you and Mrs May, they care enough to want something better for this country. How weak the Remainers are!
Gulliver will be ok. Panto season is upon us. ;o)
weak and submissive.
