The BBC project Fear continues apace; what is the purpose of this non-story other than to cause fear and confusion?
All we learn is that the locals are popular and an elderly lady is "worried", no facts of any description.

from that it sounds like France needs us Brits more than ever!
That place looks like it was closed down by the Germans in 1940 and is still awaiting the end of hostilities.

Indeed a non-story. Whatever the terms of our departure there is no possibility of the ex-pats there suffering any form of disadvantage and they will remain there, spending their dosh in the one and only shop and buying their DIY from the local Homebase or whatever it is they have out there. Why they should have "concerns" is anybody's guess.

Probably been listening to purveyors of project fear.
Utter rot !
All this report is doing is saying that people have concerns. Those may be groundless, and you are of course at liberty to sneer, but the concerns are real enough even if you don’t share them.

NJ; Yes, I believe the town was heavily bombed by the Luftwaffe and the total damage came to 15 Euros. :0)

Actually the lady who is worried about health care is like many others living under the false impression that the French are paying for it, where in reality what happens is that the bills are sent to the NHS under a supposed reciprocal scheme, but because the NHS is famously free at the point of delivery, I suspect that little of the health care of the 140,000 French people in the UK is reclaimed.

I’ve given up watching the BBC News. They don’t so much report the news, but give their own opinions on everything.
I watch ITV News where you get a much more unbiased coverage.
i too watch the BBC news but with one eye open, their reporting is often mistimed, mismanaged and biased. They rarely let someone actually speak when the person is interviewed, and last evening Clive Maire said that the Bank of England warned of dire consequences of leaving the EU with No Deal, not true, they said that the worst case scenario...
The problem is that later this month things are going to happen, it is only now that it appears nothing is happening.
How is saying a vote won't pass is scaremongering? Not all votes can pass.
It is quite rich for someone who frequently posts links from Breitbart.com to complain about the sowing of fear and confusion!!
emmie //they said that the worst case scenario... //

They said it MANY times ie, not just mentioned in passing.
bhg, yes they did, but their reporting isn't impartial is it?
As I posted before, the bank’s forecast is not the worst case scenario (I know this because I consulted the BBC’s fact checker, which is very useful). It’s actually a median forecast. Calling it the “worst case”, if they did, is actually underselling it ;-)
I actually lisened to Carney and he made a point of saying it was worst case and u nlikely to happen. He xaid it several times.
I should have added that he said it was the bank's duty to prepare for the worst case.
i watched Carney too and and read the piece on line, worse case scenario came up time and again.

Well there's impartiality for you!
Well if Mark Carney said it why blame the BBC!
THe BBC were reporting what Mark Carney said.
Question Author
Because what is the point in recording 'worse case scenarios'?
There's always even more worse case scenarios; The black death might return! - we might get nuked! - Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell might get into numbers 10& 11! (actually, that last one is the worst of all scenarios)
