Perhaps some clarity is required on 'we'. I wouldn't include 'we' as people who live thousands of miles away.
'Baby It's Cold Outside' is one of my favourite Ella Fitzgerald tracks, but it was written three quarters of a century ago. There are loads of songs that simply don't fit in with where we are today.
This is one of them.

"She who must be obeyed" has just had an email from very good friends of hers, from their schooldays, who moved to Canada 30 years ago. The mail was apologising for not being able to send a Christmas Card this year, and advising her not to bother because of a postal strike which means that air mail is unlikely to either leave or enter Canada in time. The email goes on to say that some very "strange" things are happening there right now and that the place is unrecognisable from the original Country they moved to. French socialism at it's finest.
