Why Do Racists Think That They Can Get Away With It?
It’s it a bit arrogant to think that people around you wouldn’t be offended?

It’s like this man fell out of a space ship that came from 1972.
But seriously - why would someone shout this out, unless they were really drunk or high?

A drunken peabrain using the most pertinent insult to express its frustration is the most likely scenario. Unfortunatel y though Farage and Tommy three names have led the far right into thinking their idiotic nastiness is somehow acceptable nowadays

Whatever the situation, people should not be scream racist abuse at strangers.
I’m horrified (but not surprised) that some cannot see this.
And on that matter, if it’s not a job for the police - would it be okay fo the perpetrator to get a slap in their face?
Then problem with that is that the person doling out the slap could be arrested!

“Did you know that ‘hate crime’ is defined as physical assault, verbal abuse and incitement to hatred.”
Indeed, sp. But the vast majority of what is classed as such “criminal behaviour” involves no violence or incitement. It is simply, as in this instance, a few words chucked about which is possibly offensive to one or more individuals. This particular example is simply a mouthy middle-aged berk who has nothing better to do with his time and money on match days. Mr Stirling was not assaulted or injured and it is doubtful the incident had any lasting effect on him. No, he shouldn’t have to put up with it, but we all have to endure things we shouldn’t have to. But there are far more important things for the police to use their scarce resources investigating.

Bit miffed?
Are you serious?
Look, this problem with tolerating this language is that it makes attending games extremely dodgy for black people.
We should not have to listen to that.
If he was shouting out, “What a f**ing s**g...Such a w***re” at a womans event, whilst stood next to you, would you not want him to shut up?

I see where you’re coming from. Sterling is a good looking young man with a few thousand in the bank, possibly more than the ‘fan’ will ever earn. But why should others in the crowd hear this?
Apparently, not one single person in the crowd heard it.
Why doesn't NJ know what he is talking about?

The thug could have changed one of the three words and called any player of the opposite team the same without any ramifications: 'fat' effing C, bald effing C, blind effing C, ginger effing C. The guy IS Black. He was not called a 'N' nor were references to Bananas or the Jungle made, which of course would have been racist and nasty. He's decided to take offence because he can..... Tuck him up in his cot with a nice warm bottle of milk and give him a book on how to grow some!
It doesn’t work like that.
There used to be a major problem with racism in football, and it is a good thing that clubs fight against it.
The reason naomi24 doesn’t get the semantics of racist insults is because in the cold light of day, we can deconstruct the sentence into it’s constituent parts, but that ignore intent.
Let’s say a bloke went up to a large, red-headed girl and in front of her boyfriend loudly said, “She’s fat and she’s a ginner”.
The boyfriend may well step up to defend his girlfriend’s honour.
He wouldn’t sit her down and say, “Well, listen - you HAVE got ginger hair, and you COULD lose a few pounds.”
The intent goes beyond the words.

isn't he the one who complained because the papers reported his house purchase differently to a white players house purchase?
Isn't he the one who tweeted "black players and white players were not treated equally by the media, including the Daily Mail and Mail Online, and that he believes this helps 'fuel racism and aggressive behaviour'. "?
