May now faces a vote of confidence in her leadership of the Tory party this evening.

If she loses, then the wider party membership (such as there are any...) gets to vote. Unless, of course, anyone runs unopposed.

Predictions? Hopes? Fears?

fears are that this would destabilise us even further, and make us look weaker and more than that a laughing stock.
thanks..
Now the knives are out. It will be a secret ballot and I reckon she's a goner.

This is not good news for Corbyn. He had a day's worth of leeway to put a no confidence motion to the HoC - and even, extraordinarily, had Tory MPs urging him to do so. If they get a new leader now he will have lost his chance.
well we will know by tomorrow, why a secret ballot?
I don't follow your reasoning, Emmie. A hard Brexit leader will show the EU we mean what we say.
She has brought this upon herself through her intransigence and refusal to listen to any advice.
It's a secret ballot because it's amongst Tory MPs only. It is not a Commons vote.
i just thought that a leader change wouldn't be good for the country as a whole.
Emmie //well we will know by tomorrow, why a secret ballot?//
1.Listen to the 10 o'clock news, result will be announced shortly after the vote.
2. To avoid any enmity with her cabinet should she win.
why didn't they do this sooner, rather than now, i mean they could have done this months ago, cant understand it myself.
i will be long into my sleep at 10 o'clock, will have to wait till i wake up early..
Emmie // why didn't they do this sooner, rather than now,//
The postponement of the meaningful vote was the final straw.
But who would want to take such a poisoned chalice amidst such a critical juncture?

It’s pure theatre, nothing less.
Precisely, Danny. I don't think she'll be going to Brussels tomorrow to kiss Rse.
