I wouldn't say most, but certainly quite a few. Which is very odd. I use fifty euro notes when on the continent quite a lot and have never had any trouble having them accepted.
Mrs Thatcher was a PM about whom people have many different opinions. Which is also very odd. She without doubt saved this country from the certain fate of penury and ignominy which it would have certainly suffered had things continued the way they were. Some respondents to this question suggest they are never likely to own a £50 note. Had Mrs T's policies not been visited on the country when they were it is likely they would never be likely to own many fivers. I'm with Balders and believe that Lady Thatcher was the greatest Prime Minister of my lifetime. More than that, looking at the current bunch of clowns masquerading as politicians, she is unlikely to be challenged for that title any time so
