Have you seen this? The poor little mite must be terrified.

I hope the man does the right thing.

Did I use the word victimless?

There is scum and there is evil scum.

There are people out there who are just pure evil.
In my opinion, to steal someone's car you have to be evil.

Anyone noticed how the article has changed?

Not wanting to turn this into a don't speculate debate but as the car was found abandoned not long after was the purpose to actually steal it?
It's a strange one, Prudie.

If he arranged to meet with a view to stealing the car, you would have thought seeing the child would make him change his mind.
I can only think he jumped straight in and drove off instantly and never saw the child until it was too late.

That then begs the question...how did the car seller let this happen?
Realising that stealing a car with a child in it would lead to a massive search he decided to dump it and run.

No child and the seller would have just got a crime number.
Usually stories like this start with an unseen child in the back seat.

Difficult to miss her

/// Maria Tudorica, who was in the front seat of her father's car when it was stolen ///
Glad the girl is ok, but what is the father doing driving round in an untaxed car?
Probably the same as the 700,000 odd other drivers in untaxed vehicles
I hadn't read it was untaxed and at this moment it doesn't matter anyway.
Where does it say it is untaxed, I can't see it? And we don't know the owner had been driving around in it.

It looks as if the owner had only just put his child on the front seat when it happened.
//Describing what had happened when the car was stolen, Maria's uncle said his brother had placed the child on the front seat as he demonstrated the engine.\\

On bbc website it says police said the father drove to the street in Newham to meet a prospective buyer, who then stole the car. Also quotes number plate. Not difficult to check car tax.
Okay Sherlock.
^ how is that comment helpful?
It allowed me to relax my deeply furrowed brow.
It's just a comment, angie.

Equally as helpful as...

Glad the girl is ok, but what is the father doing driving round in an untaxed car?
Except my comment was a fact.

Maybe, but it wasn't helpful, was it?
Fact yes but helpful how?
