Looking at the video I think the police had just deployed a 'stinger' prior to the crash. There is a figure on the opposite pavement poised for the speeding car and that person appears to throw something across the road. I pray they throw the book at that driver.

TTT, my thoughts exactly. Irrespective of the poor girl's connection with the police, something desperately needs to be done to sort out the scum who drive under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. Is it any wonder that so much police resource is used on tackling drugs?

I know someone who has been caught drink driving 4 times. It was only on the 4th time he was sent to prison. Scandalous! He got 6 months.

He crashed into the towns xmas tree so you can imagine how many shoppers were about and how lucky they were he didn't crash into them.

In Ireland now they have zero tolerance for drink driving. If you're the driver you couldn't even get away with 1/2 a pint.

Lowering the drink drive limit does not stop drunk drivers. They dont care what the limit is.

I am so sorry for the victim of this chase, as was said, regardless of her connection with the Police, I think the driver should get jail and don't stop there, make him sing like a canary, where did he get the drugs and eventually get the big drug barons that are a scourge on society, probably in their big plush homes, holidays abroad etc., while a family get ready to say goodbye to a wonderful young woman. I have zero tolerance for druggies and the peddlars of such substances. Innocent people get hurt (die in this instance) and they don't care - scum is too good a word for them
