The concentration camps have been around for a while, and any Muslim who does not integrate with Chinese culture is sent to them, so this does not surprise me in the slightest.
And i'm not sure what is worse, the fact this is actually happening or the fact i'm not at all surprised :/
I’m all for integration but forcing people to eat and drink that is forbidden by their religion is vile and inhuman.
Allow me to pass on that for now and say simply how pleased and relieved I am to see you back aog!
Welcome back AOG, hope all is better.

Isn't this part of "re education" and not limited to Muslims. Anyone, including Chinese Nationals can be sent to once of these 'centres' to learn the correct way of thinking.

No doubt COB and his commie mates have the model ready for the UK.

AOG; Back, and in good form I see, Cheers !
All religions usually contain a get-out clause in such matters.
One example of verses from the Quran on pig consumption:

He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than God . But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, God is Forgiving and Merciful.[6]
Not on. Not so much because of daft religious rules, but the State has no right abusing citizens like that. If there's something one finds unpleasant to eat then they ought not be forced to consume it. Goes way beyond governmental duties.
It is going to far.

Chinese cultural attitudes are even more unfathomable to Westerners than those of the Muslim fraternity, but force and duress are understood by anyone with a heart and a soul, and they are wrong wherever and whenever they occur.
feeding them pork and booze is a bit OTT but I applaud the principle that they should integrate with the country they live in.
Jews in Europe had been victims of discrimination and persecution since the Middle Ages, often for religious reasons.

Now it is Islam / Muslims.

When you think of Muslims, if you swap the word Muslim for Jew, do you sound like a nazi?
Strange that a campaign has been launched against halal products. One would have thought that the Chinese authorities would have had no hesitation in closing Halal butchers and restaurants down.
This story brought to mind a wee tale of double standards. Friend of mine's daughter married a Muslim Turk. The children are not allowed to eat pork, but their father was done for drunk driving and lost his licence for a year.
These reports make me very uncomfortable, integration is one thing - but yes.a step too far here.
xin nian kwai lua !

ni hao - AOG - lung ma ?

remind me - this is china innit - a famously multicultural society but not as we mean it - The Han (*) insist they are top dog - and the muslims uighurs ( hey some long words here ! ) can go hang.
Which is not quite what we mean as multiculturalism.

(*) Han who dey den ? think duke of edinburgh ....

multiculturalism as coercion to break religious taboos ....
hey ho - well this is AB !

Quote; " Another week in France and another row has broken out surrounding secularism or laïcité as it’s is called.
After town halls were told to remove nativity scenes because they were against the principle of “laicïté” one mayor in the south of France has used the same argument to justify “a pork or nothing” policy in his school.
From January 1st pupils in the little town of Sargé-lès-Le Mans in the Sarthe department of north-western France will not be offered a substitute meal if they don’t eat pork.
This will affect the 15 Muslim pupils in the school who cannot eat pork because it against the dietary rules of their religion. Eating pork is also against the rules of the Jewish religion but it is not believed there are any Jewish pupils at the school.
Mayor Marcel Mortreau says his decision is based on the “principle of Republican neutrality”.
“The mayor is not required to provide meals that respond to religious requirements. This is the principle of secularism,” Mortreau told Europe1 radio. "
Unquote

They were told to leave it if you don't want to eat it, not unlike a vegetarian would do, which seems fair to me.
multi culturalism as putting in a concentration camp if they dont conform - the famously multicultural soviets did that in the sixties, seventies, eighties, and nineties - and now !

you're avin a laff ! - - [new catch phrase on AB]
the quality of this thread is so
...................................................LOW

I wonder why a usual suspect has not wondered why there is no halal pork or bacon on sale there

( this is a joke)
Typical Daily Mail non-story; "Residents in the Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture said they were INVITED to Chinese New Year dinners where pork and alcohol were served....."
