The child is the child of a British citizen, and entirely innocent in all of this. you can think what you like of it's mother, I don't have any sympathy for her either tbh, but the child I do have sympathy for as it didn't ask to be born and as far as i'm aware legally has UK and possibly dutch citizenship at the very least.
You can't just go around making people stateless just because you don't like their parents.

Calico...of course the child is an innocent as are all children when born. Unfortunately for them they have no say in their upbringing so whilst we may abhor the parentage....the poor poor child suffers from its birth right and none of us have control over that.

Who is making the baby stateless? The baby was born in Syria! That dictates that the baby is Syrian right? After all every "baby" born in Britain is immediately rendered British and continues to be labelled such, especially by the Beep Beep See, no matter what the circumstance. Can the Syrians not raise and educate children?

No, being born in Britain alone does not make you British as you very well know, and nationality is not only conferred by the father either, at least get your fact right rather than what you wish was true. the child is our problem and our responsibility. I agree she's not a citizen we want back, but there is now the baby's rights to consider as well, and we have to do that under international law.

Joyfully celebrated? Perhaps the child should be pitied for being brought up in such circumstances. He is quite likely to lead a miserable life or be a political pawn unless he can be safely adopted by a loving parent

Not being Syrian or Dutch no I can't, but my guess is that the child is British by virtue of it's mother's Nationality, possibly dutch if her marriage to the Dutch guy was legally binding and possibly Syrian as well ( I have no idea of the rules about Syrian nationality) but it is most definitely 100% British, and we will have to deal with that like a civilised country ought to deal with it's newborns who are in danger.
