Oh Dear. What a pity. Never Mind. If life actually meant life then he would be safe as houses in Isolation of course. What's he want ? A one way ticket to some exotic paradise witha luxury villa?
I hope he will soon be able to rest in peace.

One day his past will catch up with him. That will be a day he deserves.
I hold nothing but contempt for Venables but I do not relish the thought of someone else becoming a murderer to wreak vengeance.
As long as he's not a danger to the public I really don't care what happens to him.

Naomi
I suspect he still would be a danger especially to young children.

I don't doubt it.
The issue is this one is still a problem to the public unlike Thompson.

Since TROB have deemed he should be let out the public should know who and where he is.
"As long as he's not a danger to the public I really don't care what happens to him."

But he clearly is, though, naomi. Particularly as far as children are concerned.

In 2008 he was jailed for Affray and possession of cocaine, In 2010 he was jailed for two years for the possession of indecent images of children . In 2017 he was again caught with more than again 1000 indecent images of children. More than 300 were "category A" (the worst kind) and many were of children younger that six and even some of babies. He was also convicted of the possession of a "paedophile manual". In February last year he was sentenced to 40 months for those offences. In passing sentence Mr Justice Edis said possessing the manual suggested Venables was "at least contemplating the possibility" of committing an actual sexual crime against children.

The man is a complete and utter menace. He has been provided with a second "new identity" after his first was revealed. When he was sentenced for murdering Jamie Bulger considerable allowances were made for his age. Well he's 36 now and those allowances are no longer appropriate. He has no sympathy from me whatsoever. If he had kept his head down like his co-murderer Robert Thomson seems to have been able to do I would perhaps cut him a little (though not much) slack. But he hasn't and I couldn't care what happens to him so long as he is prevented from committing further crimes.

Indeed - which is why I said in reply to Retrocop "I don't doubt it".
I hope he feels fear for the rest of his life .
^ I second that.
I thought he was - kindda anonymous already

I mean he is the one who gets drunk and tells evryone that he is ....
or am I wrong again ?
If we look at this and take the emotion (entirely justified as it is) out of it, we can see what we are left with.

A man who committed a horrible crime as a child, and is now living with the consequences as an adult.

The simple fact is, we as a society cannot allow vigilante justice to intervene in due legal process, however much that idea may appeal to angry people.

To allow it demeans and lessens all of us as a civilsed country, we use our laws to punish criminals, not angry vigilante mobs meting out what they believe to be justice.
The anonymity was granted for the killing of James Bulger. If he were put at risk of retribution now, it would be most likely for the James Bulger killing, rather than for any subsequent offence, so the anonymity needs to continue. We are not a nation without respect for the law, and we should fear becoming one.

I was surprised to see Edward Fitzgerald, QC, getting a namecheck though. I thought that old wreck was long gone.
I'm surprised that someone hasn't 'got to him' by now in the windows of opportunity.
This article illustrates what can happen when the self-righteous (who usually have absolutely no connection with the original events) decide to show society/the rest of the world, etc. etc. just how a concerned-citizen ought to behave.....

All they have achieved is to condemn their own families to a lifetime of pain and hardship.
jack - Self-righteousness is exactly the root of this dreadful act - people who think their lust for revenge overrides the law.

Sadly we see shades of that attitude on here every single day.
I understood he outed himself as well Pete.
Whilst I agree we can't have vigilantes, if he keeps on re-offending and demonstrates that he is still a danger to children, someone will have him, and if he'd done that to my little boy he'd be dead already.
Andy-hughes, //we can see what we are left with. A man who committed a horrible crime as a child, and is now living with the consequences as an adult.//

Not so. His criminal activity resurfaced in adulthood.
He's a frigging paedophile!!!
^Yes.
