And of course what JRM (and many others) seem to have conveniently overlooked is that the leaving "agreement" contains many, many shortcomings of which the NI issue is just but one. The agreement means the UK will not, in anything other than name, leave the EU. I don't blame the EU for offering nothing else. That is their prerogative.
