The speed is less important than the direction; especially when already far too far down the wrong road. To reform satisfactorily it'd need to tear up all the closer union federalist bits to start with. That won't happen. When something has become a mess it's often better to start again and scrap the old. Try concentrating on trade next time.

The referendum wasn't a mess, Karl. It was a perfectly straightforward exercise with two possible outcomes. Politicians have made the mess by refusing to implement the result as promised.

I'm afraid I don't share your optimism, OG. Next week will see the "agreement" voted down again by Parliament, then will follow the rejection of the option of "No Deal" and then will follow a delay to Brexit. Whenever the new deadline is, the same farce will be repeated. The EU will not alter its offer, Parliament will not agree to it and they will not countenance No Deal. The EU has no need to do anything because our politicians have done it all for them.
