Well,it's certainly a lengthy sentence and as an opener it sends a clear message out to anyone else who engages in such despicable a practice.

Like the recent coercive control case, this is a first and will be used as a benchmark for future prosecutions. The police, CPS, health and social workers now have a clearer idea of how the law is likely to be interpreted, so future prosecutions are more likely.

Urmm... Yes about right. Male genitalia mutilation in american and on Jewish men is completely legal.. So this illegal practise would make sense for it to be 10 years, especially if the child is endangered from the mutilation.

She certainly won't.
If the child's father has had any sort of role in the girl's life I would have liked him to go to prison too, if he knew about it and didn't report it or in any way consented to the FGM.

11 years for the FGM. I can only assume that she took photos or made a video of her daughter and sent it to somebody else to either prove the procedure had taken place or to advertise her 'skills'.
The child is now in foster care.

Her daughter may still love her, fatalbertfixer, and we don't know how she'll feel about her when she leaves prison. She may hate her and never want to see her again.

The daughter is only three years old HC so in time so hopefully she should forget her mother.

Those who take their girls abroad to have this barbaric act performed on them should not be allowed back into the UK. If this was made public, perhaps it would go some way to stamping this vile practice out.

Bit more in the Mail about the porn. What disgusting parents. The state of the place the poor child lived in. Says the policeman stuck to the floor in the kitchen. Living on benefits, filthy house, into porn both of them and mutilating their daughter with son seeing poor child bleeding afterwards. I children get adopted by a decent couple and parents sent back to Uganda.
