o hahahaha I must tell you - I was irritating the teenagers in my evg class and so they had to shout their subdued possy put downs because otherwise I wouldnt hear their scathing remarks .... fun class apparently a/c to the teacher .....

Female police officers do contend with all the negative aspects of their job that you have mentioned - but that does not make their job comparable with that of an MP.
Police officers undertake their career knowing that potential violence, and maybe death, is a very real daily risk that is undertaken in order to protect the public on a day-to-day basis. That does not in any way compare with what an MP could reasonably expect to deal with undertaking their daily role, which is completely different.
So there is no comparison at all there - except one - female police offers should not have to suffer threats and abuse any more than female MP's, and to suggest that because one does, the other should as well is to ignore the vital point - neither of them should suffer at all.

I am sure Mr Nigel Farage and certainly the late Margaret Thatcher received death threats. That is why senior cabinet ministers receive armed Special Branch protection. That has been the same for years.
If you put yourself in public office you are bound attract dissenters against hard decisions one makes as the roles you choose dictates.
Spend your working life as an office boy working amongst a load of girls and you are hardly likely to expect death threats at the end of your working day . Likewise selling buttons in a haberdashery dept in a store. You will hardly attract threats of rape should you inadvertently short change a customer. Of course Jo Cox should not of been murdered because of her role as a Labour MP but that is a risk you take whenputting yourself at the fore in public office.
If Ms Abbott has not realised those risks by now then she should give up politics instead of bleating about her lot in life.

You seem to regard it as an occupational hazard for female police officers, so female MP's should just, to use your delightful turn of phrase - 'Suck it up'.

Folk in the Armed Forces are liable to be in potentially dangerous or life-threatening situations. Ultimately they could be involved in a war.

Those in the ambulance service or medical professions are often subjected to verbal or physical abuse from those who may or may not be aware of their actions.
I can not see a reason for abusing those in a public position merely because of the opinions they express. Why on earth should we expect them to take it on the chin and just treat it as part of the job?
