I’d imagine we’d do that tora. If not we won’t half look silly :-)
It's perfectly possible to have a no-deal despite some folks' denial. Even if the MPs are willing to treat the referendum result with disdain, and a majority votes to throw away the only honourable option tomorrow, May has stated she has no intention of going so far in betraying the public as to withdraw A50. So all the EU has to do is refuse any ridiculous extension request on the basis of there being no justification for it (I mean apart from stringing things out in the hope of a withdrawal of A50 and demanding membership fees) and we achieve the no-deal we all know is right in the circumstances.
ich see here:
http://theconversation.com/brexit-is-it-possible-to-stop-it-107750
see para 2 under "Changes needed to UK law".
yes they would presumably repeal it but we are running out of time and it has to go through both houses and get the royal assent all in a few days by the time they've played silly burgers.
The MPs were voting for down a deal you presumably don’t like OG! So you ought to be pleased with them.
Until tomorrow.
It was funny listening to James Cleverley being asked about the free vote tomorrow. Allowing MPs the freedom of ‘exploring the options”. The reality is it was either that or have half the cabinet resign.
Still not even close. But now we have only a shade over two weeks to come up with anything else...
I’ll admit tora that I’m confused by the difference between revoking article 50 and repealing the statute that deals with our leaving on March 29 so I can’t really say, only that I’d imagine that a way would be found. I doubt we’ll all wake up on March 30 and oops ...
But you’re right, we’re running out of time for a lot of things.
ich it's very simple, A50 is an EU device for leaving the EU. The 2018 act is how we repeal all the joining and further immersion legislation and at the same time incorporate all the relevant EU laws into our own.
Incidentally, one of those voting for the Deal this time was David Davis, who has been banging on the loudest about keeping No Deal "on the table". Who knows what that says about his beliefs?
// I doubt we’ll all wake up on March 30 and oops .//

Here here. My fireworks are already on order. Probably the biggest rockets and air bombs that I have ever set off. I am no alone it would seem. You try getting your hands on some.
good idea better get some poo before the firesides put the price up!
Well as I said before then tora I don’t think that WILL be repealed. But delayed. I mean presumably it can be. Until the whole darned thing is eventually revoked.
I beg to differ that it’s simple tbh :-)
it cannot be delayed the date and time are included in the act. Read the article I posted at 21:14. Jim can you help ich understand here, you have often referred to the folly of making this and act of parliament.
The EU arent going to give us anything more so they should just get on and leave. We will survivie and thrive whereas the remaining soluble EU members know there are some large bills coming which is why they will make it as difficult as possible for us to leave.
I am pleased with them ich, well sort of. Disappointing to see there were some turncoats. But still a way to go before we've left, what with all the wreckers insisting on frivolous further votes in the hope of preventing us leaving.
I thought I was trying to help someone understand something that like 99% of the electorate, they clearly did not realise. Shown your true colours their jim.
Lol Jim

If it can’t be done tora then what is the point in asking for an extension? If it’s that simple why are you asking :-)
I think crap that you will find that the EU will be be making it difficult for us to stay, not leave ...
Transparency is not a colour. Unless it is deemed so somewhere, buried, in EUSSR legislation TTT.
just giving you the facts ich. Not saying it can't be done but getting it through both houses? The PM does not have enough support to repeal the act because of the ERG etc, she'll need Labour and that support is by no means guaranteed and there will be strings attached. Even if the commons support it, will the Lords? Ping pong, clock running low. No deal is looking ever more likely. The main way of stopping that is the EU conceding on the deal and the house having another vote.
