/// When a General Election is called ( which it will be soon) do you seriously think they won't field candidates and split the Tory vote? ///
Don't you think that it will split the Labour vote also, seeing that a large proportion of Labour voters, especially in the North, voted in the referendum to leave the EU?

// Good job the likes of you were not around in 1940.//
AOG, Cal old girl , was a 5 y o just in case you wondering.
The returning troops from Ramsgate to London apray Dunkirk, were a rabble and were chucking their arms out of the train windows ( capital offence by the way) and saying - "they'll be here in a few days!"
Retro has cruelly and spitefully said in another thread to me
'I suppose Daddy told you that ...'
er no - by that time Daddy was 'in the bag' and was in Eichstatt I think.
28 May 1940 - so I learnt later
( obviously not front page of the Times stuff)

o god if we are to have another hundred random comments about Brexit,
I will muse about my fathers escape from POW camp on the night of Barbarossa ( 28 June 1941)
at least you wont have heard it All Before
( walked across germany - swum the Kiel Canal during an air raid ( black out) and was recaptured on the Danish border half way up the Jutland peninsula)

/// He's caused an awful lot of the hate and discontent that seems to be prevalent in the country right now. ///
It is not Nigel who has caused 'an awful lot of the hate and discontent', he fought to give the majority of the British public what they wanted.
It is the remainers who have caused all this hate and discontent, by not being prepared to accept the majority's wishes gracefully.

I fully accept the outcome of the vote but that doesn't stop me from disagreeing with it.
What I don't accept is being called a traitor ,a quisling or all the other vile names bandied about on here just because I have a different view.
Democracy means doing the right thing and not trashing the country by crashing out without a deal and the chaos that would ensue so that these disaster capitalists,of which Farage is one , can make a killing out of it.
Brexit will make people like him very rich but a whole lot of other people considerably poorer.
