She just didn't stop fighting.....or living. I do wonder how many fantastically courageous people are never heard of after surviving (or not) wartime atrocities . Those that survive seem to often just disappear into the mist.

Good point Karl. I think that (as in most exploitable human traits) the enemies latch on to some ‘normal’ characteristic (such as love of home) and manipulate it for their own ends. None of us is born a fascist, but some of us embrace it far too easily!

and the rest - fled to France Jan 39 - - - where they were interned as the French didnt really know what to do with them. Near the border - kinda important for what happened next. Sep 39.

1940 and chute de France ( yeah lots of forrin in this post) the camps were in Vichy France ( sort of beloved of 3T ) . This was OK until the German occ upation of the unoccupied part ( er that made sense to the germans - the effect is unoccupied becomes occupied )

and they were carted off to concentration camps. 1941
Mauthausen 1945 they were liberated by the Yanquis and THAT is why if you go to the Mauthausen CC page on wiki
