Well it means your opinions are form a position of living in a white body. You have no idea of the trauma black people have received in very recent history, and are still receiving to this day. So it isn't surprising for you to see a black heritage baby being compared to an ape, and not seeing the issue with it. Most people would and did.

Imo, it was certainly stupid and well-known people have to be much more careful as their careers rely on public perception. Whether it was deliberately racist, I doubt... it seems odder to automatically compare a chimp to a mixed race person.

This is exactly why an awful lots of Agents won't allow you to have Social Media when you sign with them, or you have to agree to have yours taken over by a Rep if you do- because people are stupid / racist / drunk / high / ignorant / ill informed / illiterate / uncool / you name it- but racist is pretty high on the list of what they don't want their clients revealed as.
