Trade war: Trump raises tariffs on $200bn of Chinese goods https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-48210313

I love the fact that the Beeb have chosen to show a picture of the Stars & Stripes being made.

Nigh saying - there you go - listen to Peter Pedant ?

what a christian virtue she shows! a message of encouragement and enlightenment ! - which er book of the Bible did she get it from - not the Book of Gobbledegook by any chance ?

O cruel PP !
[o miselle passer! tua nunc opera meae puellae, flendo turgiduli rubent ocelli.] bit of a stretch there, but with a rub or two I will make it fit. Sozza Neia, ancient forrin

‘The more ‘everyday’ jobs you have available the more people there are to buy stuff‘

Booooom. That’s the sound of my brain exploding trying to fathom that one.
It's quite simple and it's right, imo.
//If there weren’t tariffs, big or small on whatever goods or services you want to use, there would be no need of trade deals.//

You do realise what non-tariff barriers are, don't you? They're the core of modern trade diplomacy. They're also the reason why blocs like the EU are increasingly becoming the norm in global trade.
Question Author
No they don’t Krom. That’s why we’re in the mess we are.
Question Author
Spicey, it can’t be right cos it makes no sense! Where do all the extra people come from as soon as these extra jobs are created?
Immigration? Creates a low wage economy and more consumers too. You're Globalist friends are greedy but they're not completely stupid.
If they export 40% of jobs and bring in third world paupers to keep another 40% on subsistence wages, they won't have many consumers left to, er, consume.
The other 20% shuffling paper to and fro and drinking Costa coffee does not a sustainable economy make.
Question Author
Oooooh, so Trump is generating jobs for immigrants is he! Funny that cos I thought he was rather opposed to them. Any more gems of logic like that?
Once again, you're completely wrong, Zacs. (you are consistent, I'll give you that)
Unlike you, obviously, I've listened to several of Trumps highly entertaining rally speeches. He always emphasizes the need for immigration to serve the growing economy.
He doesn't want uncontrolled immigration. Who does. You?
Anyhow, talking with you is tiring (like talking to a 5 yr old 'why dad, why dad, why dad')
I'll give you some more lessons tomorrow.

‘Unlike you, obviously, I've listened to several of Trumps highly entertaining rally speeches’

You need to get out more. Seriously. His rhetoric is brainwashing you. Proposing that he’s made sanctions against China to generate the need for more immigrants to buy home made goods is the logic of a madman.
// Anyhow, talking with you is tiring (.... blah blah blah yak yak yak .......more lessons tomorrow.//

if you find posting tiring spicey you could always stop posting and er give us all a rest...
I hve never heard Trump say he liked immigration
but that may be me ....
Question Author
Me neither PP. spicey has taken leave of the little sense he once had, it would seem.
I visited this thread in the vain hope that the title was literal, but all I find is political stuff.

The guy is a liability and has no redeeming features.
Peter Pedant// I hve never heard Trump say he liked immigration
but that may be me .... //

Zacs-Master ///Me neither PP. ///

I know how Father Ted felt explaining things to Dougal.

I listen to/watch Trump's rallies. Ergo, I know what he's said about legal immigration.
Neither of you listen to/watch Trump rallies. Ergo, it's hardly surprising you haven't heard his views on legal immigration.
I really can't make it any simpler for you and, to be honest, most people wouldn't consider it rocket science.
Ye Gods! Double delusions! PP and ZM have joined ranks!

From The White House website:

// To protect American workers, the President supports ending chain migration, eliminating the Visa Lottery, and moving the country to a merit-based entry system. These reforms will advance the safety and prosperity of all Americans while helping new citizens assimilate and flourish.//

https://www.whitehouse.gov/issues/immigration/

Ye Gods, Naomi the Trump supporting, ghost believing, religious expert has rejoined the thread.

Naomi, dear, you seem to have been taken in by the same sort of dumbass rhetoric. Exactly how is that reform going? I’ll tell you.....
The reforms simply make it easier for his administration to deny and block visas which is wholly in line with his anti immigration policy. Do a bit of research before blindly following your misogynistic xenophobic idol.
