Well now we have a talking point.. TWO love islanders have killed themselves since this show aired. Both of them were contestant saying they couldn't handle the fame after the show. Yet Love Island is still on? and Jeremy Kyle has been on a LOT longer than love island..
That's a fantastic point Nay.

Lie detector tests (or polygraphs) are not always 100% correct and their effectiveness depends a great deal upon the skill of the questioner. He asked to go on the show to prove he hadn't been unfaithful because his fiance wasn't convinced of this, apparently. According to one of his friends, he was adamant the test would show him to be faithful to his partner. As i wrote on the thread i began, where is the evidence that the show's after-care has been a sustained success. I've never seen any facts printed. The whole show is car-crash tv.
Regarding the love island point, it's a brilliant comparison.
Love island creates an unrealistic ideology of youth culture. It also promotes body modification such as lip fillers, breast enlargement and plastic surgery. They got in trouble for targeting these adverts at a love island audience because of how damaging it is. Two love islanders have committed suicide after the show due to pressure of the show and the show aint even been on all that long!

And how anyone can compare the JK show to Love Island is beyond me. Those on the JK show are made to face up to whether or not the baby they have brought up is actually theirs, or who stole granny's cash, etc, etc, etc. When they return to normality, they face ridicule and scorn. Love Island is just a bunch of preening male and female wannabees who already believe the sun shines out of their own rissoles. The guy who recently committed suicide after the programme did so (according to all the reports i have read) because he couldn't handle the fame. No comparison whatsoever, imho.
