Guests came to air their problems/troubles, Trisha dealt with them reasonably sensitively and there was a fair amount of 'audience-participation' where she would wander through the audicence with a microphone and questions could be asked and advice offered from those present. For a while JK did similar...
JK has morphed into something more combative; 'muscle-music' is played to provoke the audience into booing/hissing, burly minders add an air of controlled force/violence and JK presides over it all as a malevolent Master of Ceremonies, by turns commiserating with and then needling the guests.
I much preferred it as it originally was.....
