The council then messed up and did their job too late. Maybe a few too many were complacent and found out but all the same they have been caught out by a rotten system and denied their democratic right. That's not acceptable.
We printed off the form.My husband is an EU citizen .As soon as they announced they were going to hold these elections we made sure he was able to vote.Never had to fill in an extra form before to vote in the EU elections but it was a requirement this time. The council sent him a letter confirming he could vote which he took with him to the polling station and was able to vote.

How is it hilarious, Naomi? I’d be upset if I turned up to vote and was told I couldn’t, as I’m sure you would be.
These people assumed they were entitled to vote. My son’s wife is Lithuanian and I think - and she thinks - she could vote. I must ask my son if she was able to.
If she was turned away I don’t think we would find it hilarious.

For what it's worth I think 'many people' are so lazy that they equate sauntering along to put an X in a box to work, like that daft old trout who was all over the news a while back about 'another one'.
They don't deserve a vote, just give them a can of cider and a pie and point them in the direction of a park.

This annoys me. It’s always worth voting.
My husband often tells me my vote is wasted because we are in an area where my chosen party is not going to win. But it’s still MY vote and I want to make my choice known.
I voted tactically this time, to send a message and I wish everyone would do so too if their party isn’t likely to win.
