Given that Johnson was always a front runner, anybody else who stood was always going to appear to think they were a better choice than him. Dropping out and offering him your support seems like a lesser animal cowering in front of the alpha male after a challenge.

Proving you were wrong in your previous assessment, however, suggests you might well be wrong again. Not sure Johnson wants peoplevof questionable judgment in his corner. He needs a childminder, not a hung-ho lickspittle cheering him on.

anyway Bo JO doesnt regard us voters as his constituency but the MPs. So all he is doing is talking to them and er not wasting time on things like tee-vee shows for us tax payers who pay for it all

You dont have a say PP the MP's do PP. So what exactly is your point? Will you complain when the lib Dems or labour (knowing your views) elect their leader with out asking the general public?

Since the TV audience are not going to decide Mr Johnson's future as PM, he loses nothing by not bothering to appeal to them, and maintains his dignity by staying away from his fellow runners as they try and outshine each other in a way that can only ever come across as needy and vain.

It seems (after the event) that Boris was very sensible to avoid this particular debate. It was hosted by Ch. 4 and so bound to be angled against 'no deal' leavers - as Raab has learned to his cost (stats. prove he was allowed less time) as well as the others piling into him. I think he will emerge stronger for the experience, but not yet.
