Dropping out and offering him your support seems like a lesser animal cowering in front of the alpha male after a challenge.

It seems (after the event) that Boris was very sensible to avoid this particular debate. It was hosted by Ch. 4 and so bound to be angled against 'no deal' leavers - as Raab has learned to his cost (stats. prove he was allowed less time) as well as the others piling into him. I think he will emerge stronger for the experience, but not yet.
