Another show of outrage from TTT. He who seems to protest too much. The only person who cares about this country. A true member of the Frinton Faction.
Usual couple of posters on here would rather attack the OP then make a valid comment/argument. Honestly If you cannot understand the OP then maybe you shouldnt be looking in News, but then again I suspect both of you know full well what he meant.
She, the wee un, really should look in the mirror before casting such accusations at people.
// I don't think that^ quote from De Gaulle is true at all. Nationalism doesn't equate to 'hatred'.//
de Gaulle should know - he spent the war sitting on a leather chair in Carlton House Terrace
and loathing the Americans for liberating la belle France for the next thirty years
de Gaulle was presumably talking about their algerian crisis innit?
( sustained cries from the usual suspects of who? where ? and wen dat den? )
Ah there you are PP. Thank goodness for that! I got a bit worried when you missed poking at one of my posts the other day - a rarity to say the least. I did give you a nudge in a subsequent post but you missed that too. Tut tut! You’re slipping old chap. If you want to keep on the ball, socks need to be determinedly pulled up and for advice on doing that, google is, as always, your friend. ;o)
PP:"de Gaulle should know - he spent the war sitting on a leather chair in Carlton House Terrace
and loathing the Americans for liberating la belle France for the next thirty years " - crikey, TOVI, talks sense shocker!
Who remembers Dean Rusk, from Kennedy admin? Back in the early 60's, when France were in discussions with the USA about withdrawing from NATO, DeGaulle was thumping the table at Rusk and demanded that he wanted all Americans off French soil within 24 hours. Rusks' reply was:
"Does that include all those in the war cemeteries?"
