You've found one article in a rag, 7UP. Even the Guardian article says they weren't employed by the British Government.
Back to the drawing board with you. Try one of those 'fact' checkers you're so fond of.
Just to answer the OP, a big fat resounding 'NO' from me !

///White soldiers from those colonies received a gratuity worth triple that offered to black troops.///

Yes but they were British and were paid the same as all British forces according to their rank, colonial forces were paid on the level of their country.

/// Hardly a level playing field.
And as far as I remember, the Axis weren't threatening Kenya. ///

Never heard of German East Africa, yes I know that was WW1 but had the Germans won WW2 don't you think that they would strive to get their colonies back?
Think we should ask for reparations from central European Celts, Saxons, Romans and the Normans for the lives lost in their respective invasions. What a farce it all is. Maybe the descendants of black African slave traders, who sold their countrymen to white slavers, should pay compensation to the descendants of their victims.
Yeah and what about the Roman soldiers who came over here. Were they paid the same as the Legionnaires who were in in the Med? Did they receive cold weather payments and umbrellas in their kit? Poor lads, we are honour bound to make amends forthwith. Italy could do with the dosh after all...….And the Taffs. Did their bowmen get paid the same as the English ones at Agincourt?
LOL, Togo.
//Following months of silence since the Guardian and al-Jazeera first revealed the discriminatory policy,//

Tells you all you need to know. Al-Jazeera trawling the history books looking for an opportunity to extract funds with malice. Still, now the com pen say shun scam over the alleged brutality of British squaddies in the Gulf war has been exposed for the lies that they were, they need alternative means of "support".

"More than half a million black African soldiers who fought in the British army during the second world war were paid up to three times less than their white counterparts, a newly unearthed document has revealed, prompting calls for an investigation and the government to compensate surviving veterans.

The document, buried in Britain’s national archives, reveals how the government systematically discriminated against African soldiers, paying white personnel – even those living in African colonies and serving alongside African soldiers in British colonial units – far more than their black counterparts."

"A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: “The UK is indebted to all those servicemen and women from Africa who volunteered to serve with Britain during the second world war. Their bravery and sacrifice significantly contributed to the freedoms that we all enjoy today.”

Who to believe, eh ? Ministry of Defence spokesman 1, or, Ministry of Defence spokesman 2 ?
Togo: What about the Irish at Waterloo? Chequebooks out Brit gov.
Average salary in UK is approx £29,000.
Average salary in Kenya is approx 650,000 shillings.

So, purely for the sake of the argument, let's say a Brit was awarded the average salary and a Kenyan received a third of that, they'd receive approx 1,250,000 shillings....or almost double the average Kenyan salary.

Doesn't seem like too bad a deal to me.
Ignore my post - I've just re-read sevenOP's quoted statement "White soldiers from those colonies received a gratuity worth triple that offered to black troops." and realised I miss-read it assuming it was comparing African troops against British troops, but I see it is referring to white troops from the colonies against black troops from the colonies, in which case both should receive the same.

Note to self - read, and then re-read, before posting.

we ALL make mistakes.
You showed a fine example of honour, honesty and integrity.

If the white ones from the colonies were British, as you claim, how come the black ones weren't British?

/// If the white ones from the colonies were British, as you claim, how come the black ones weren't British? ///

Because in this case they lived in Africa, whereas the White soldiers were only stationed in these countries.
Duck, dodge, weave and keep unsavoury history well and truly buried.

No one will notice ;-/
ANOTHEOLDGIT, from an earlier article, "The document, buried in Britain’s national archives, reveals how the government systematically discriminated against African soldiers, paying white personnel – even those living in African colonies and serving alongside African soldiers in British colonial units – far more than their black counterparts."

Since not all the white soldiers were stationed there, how can the different rates be justified?
