Yes danny, but that would be without a deal, which hammond is trying to block. So where does that leave us? (genuine question).

by what mechanism could it be blocked? It's not enough to say you do not want no deal, you have to do something to stop it. What could they do? Simply putting forward a motion and even winning is not enough. Even Treason herself recognized that.

BTW it says 'to secure - within the next three weeks before parliament rises for the summer - a date in October on which MPs will control the agenda and can force through legislation' in the article, so that's (presumably) ythe mechanism. It's one which was, the article points out, successfully used by Yvette Cooper and Oliver Letwin in extending the deadline.
