Tell me with a straight fave that Rory Stewart, Greg Clarke, David Gauke and Philip Hammond would not have been dismisses from the cabinet had they not or were they not to resign first.

One of the UK vessels landed the impossible task of protecting shipping is called H.M.S. Duncan, I believe.
Not sure IDS’s comments hold much weight as he’s been coming across as a bitter little man for some years now

not sure what good that will do him - parliament (or gina miller and her latest court action) will prevent it. again the EU are saying they won't extend the deadline. whoever is in Mr Johnson's cabinet (assuming he wins) has got virtually no wriggle room.

All of which presages interesting times, with the sensible ones on the outside opposing the ones on the inside. Potential meltdown indeed.
Could Johnson call an election? Benefit from the “bounce” he’s likely to get. Corbyn is still his best asset but it looks as though that might not last as his popularity plummets.

The EU have actually said they will extend the deadline. They’d have to if there was any prospect of an agreement as there is simply no time otherwise.
But we have to ask for the extension first.

If we were daft enough to ask for yet another extension, and if the EU agreed, then the EU would again waste it's extra time failing to come up with a sensible agreement, but continuing to demand their original one was the only option, anyway. No point in us giving them the option of more time to waste.

Not a Tory Meltdown. IDS is correct imo. Hammond just never sings from the same hymn sheet as the rest of the choir. He knows it to and already packing his bags.

The Navy cannot hope to defend all the shipping in the gulf. They gave at most 3 available warships and two of those weren’t even there at the time. I though Duncan Smith was loaning that the US had offered to help but were ignored or done such.
But, like I say, he’s been moaning on the sidelines for years so I’m not sure what he says carries much weight (as if it ever did)
