Alcohol and prescription drugs are legal and when taken, can affect the ability to drive.

People who take prescription drugs that affect their ability to drive, don't drive. If they do, the DVLA are aware of their conditions.

Drug driving is illegal, you've said it. So why would someone take drugs, then assume they can drive?

I think they are suggesting that once medicinal use is legal, legalisation of recreational use tends to follow. One gets little recreational use from taking medicine.

THC has medicinal properties, especially neurologically. THC and CBD work together, like sisters. Yes CBD is more medicinal, but CBD is enhanced by THC. THC also stops the bell curve chart which CBD has, regarding it's dosage.

Search "Rick Simpson Oil". It is over 90% THC and effectively cured skin cancer.

I am not sure why "they" would all think they are safe to drive? Most people who use alcohol do so responsibly. I am peripherally intersted in how certain industries will deal with the legalisation. Many of them now forbid use full stop and conduct random drugs tests where the marker for use, which I believe remains for about a month, is sufficient for instand dismissal. Alcohol testing, which is also applied randomly as well as for cause, considers only bloodstream levels and not any markers for previous use.
