Just had a quick look through Smow's post below (''I Hate Cooking Dinner'')
Just curious how many people would happily eat the same thing for a few days in a row because its convenient.
I like food, cooking and trying different things but as a single fella I just find it easier to use what Ive got in the larder until its gone and then move on to something else.
eg. I bought a cooked chicken on Saturday and had 3 dinners from it and enough for a couple of lunches. Eating the same thing for 3 days (obviously with different things) wasn't an issue at all.
If Ive got something that needs using within a time frame it would seem foolish to waste it.
Its all food.
Cant imagine a caveman getting sick of bison because he ate it for the two days previously.
Yes I can do just that. I often cook something way too much for one and rather than portion nad freeze (freezer full etc) I'll happily eat it a few times on the go.
When I find something I like I’ll eat it all the time. My current favourite breakfast is mushrooms, spinach and tomatoes. I sometimes have it for dinner too. Lovely.
When my mum was in hospital my dad ate bacon and eggs for 2 weeks.....I eat the same thing each morning because I must eat something with a pill I have to take but would be happy not bothering with breakfast except coffee and would be happy eating the same for each evening meal for several days on the trot.
When we have a roast dinner on Sunday, we have the meat cold on Monday and the meat incorporated into some kind of hot dish on Tuesday. It's just what we do. No problem with that at all.
Wednesday, we have something entirely different, usually a fish dish.
Getting a piece of brisket delivered tomorrow, once cooked and cooled it will provide a good few days meals - then adding fresh vegetables added to the stock will give me l broth for lunches for almost a week.
I tend to have porridge most mornings, but do add fresh blueberries, raspberries, and crushed almonds. It still works out cheaper than buying cereals with dried fruit in. Tinned mackerel on toast I can eat for ever.
