Although I think it pointless to make such publicity stunts it does show up the hypocrisy of all the other ‘good and great’ that jet in and out on their private planes.
But I suppose they have much busier lives than dear Greta.
Well, as an autistic girl who hates socialising, she is doing pretty well! Am actually somewhat fed up with hearing about her. She was asked what she proposes to do about it. Her answer was that it is for adults and governments to decide, not teenagers. Shouldn't teenagers be informed that their mobile phones and communication industries are one of the worse...
That may or may not be true. The more important thing is she's managed to get the ear of pathetic governments (not only ours) who ae enraptured with the "Climate Change" lobby. She began with the Swedish government (who, I would suggest, have more pressing problems to deal with) and went on from there. It's a sad day when governments prefer to listen to a sixteen year old schoolgirl who has made so-called Climate Change her hobby horse for the moment than they do to listen to their voters.
Thor Heyerdahl did a similar journey across the pacific in 1947 in a proper zero footprint, it was a hand built raft and it didn't have solar power which this boat has. In his book he mentioned the amount of rubbish in the sea even then, it didn't have much affect seventy -two years ago and this publicity stunt won't have much either.

Her answer was that it is for adults and governments to decide, not teenagers. Shouldn't teenagers be informed that their mobile phones and communication industries are one of the worse offenders. Perhaps Greta should remind her peer group of this.
//And all because some mouthy foreign brat is forcing you to look more closely at the world you’re ruining.//
She's forcing me to do nothing. In fact, quite the reverse. The more I see of people telling me and others what I should and should not do/eat/drink/consume/burn/anything else, the more I just carry on doing what I want. When they stop China opening a new coal fired power station about every ten days then I'll consider how much meat I'm eating and what light bulbs I use.
Who does she think she’s kidding? This is a young woman who has spoken at Davos, been feted by political stiffs across the globe, and who is shortly setting sail for the United States on a sixty foot racing yacht. Anyone who thinks that is rebellion is in urgent need of a dictionary.
It's not "so-called", which is already a mistake. Greta Thunberg is doing a great job of capturing the attention of politicians who should long ago have paid more attention to the scientists who have studied this and understood that human activity is wrecking the planet.
I'll go along with New Judge. The world hasn't a chance whilst China doesn't give a Damn. Our contribution to climate change is insignificant. But at least we can set a good example, I suppose.
I think her journey by boat is zero carbon isn't it? If she is solely using wind-power to get there. the boat itself may not be, or the things on it, but the journey is
